Join the global campaign to free scholar and peace activist Bahruz Samadov
Bahruz Samadov, a PhD student at Charles University and peace advocate, was arrested in Baku in August 2024 and sentenced in June 2025 to 15 years in prison on fabricated charges of treason. His only "crime" was calling for peaceful dialogue with Armenia. The trial was held behind closed doors. Bahruz has attempted suicide in detention and is held in solitary confinement. His case has drawn widespread international condemnation.
This campaign is led by a coalition of individuals and organizations from academia, civil society, and the human rights community.
